Upgrading Suppression Systems For A Data Centre, Milton Keynes

Approached by a long standing client to provide an additional Data hall to an existing data centre in Milton Keynes. Original Surveys concluded that the existing gas suppression systems that were originally installed and designed to cope with the future extensions were still in a serviceable state but no longer supported by the manufacturer of the system, hence our only option was to provide a stand alone system for the new data hall. We had to integrate the new extensions into the existing fire detection and alarm systems and design the new smoke detection systems to meet the requirements of both BS 5839-1 and BS 6266, gas suppression elements were designed to meet the requirements of EN 15004 Parts 1 and 9 using IG 55 as the extinguishing media.
