With over 40 years of experience in the fire safety industry, John Newton brings an extraordinary depth of technical and commercial expertise to Simple Group. Starting his career at just 16, John has held diverse roles across engineering, product management, and senior leadership, with a long-standing focus on innovation and customer-centric solutions.

Before joining Simple in July 2023, John spent 23 years at a leading UK manufacturer of fire safety control equipment, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s growth from a startup to a market leader with a turnover nearing £50 million.

At Simple Group, John is instrumental in shaping the company’s product vision and solution development. Drawing on his vast industry knowledge, he works closely with the team to turn ideas into deliverable systems – building out specifications, forging supplier partnerships, and helping clients solve real-world challenges.

John is passionate about transforming the fire safety industry, championing open access and enabling a network of trusted partners and installers. His ambition is to help Simple become the go-to name for expert smoke control solutions – trusted, reliable, and always adding value.
