Overview
Our Gateway Consulting provides early and expert specialist building services support across Life Safety (fire alarm, evacuation, smoke and suppression systems). We believe this critically early engagement is crucial to accelerating construction and getting projects delivered safer, more efficiently and at reduced risk for developers.
Our aim is to give clarity, certainty, add value by improving the delivery, governance, and value-for-money for the projects we support.
The Gateway process is transforming the construction landscape and demands new thinking and approaches to how projects are planned and delivered.
By initially defining each building’s ‘purpose,’ it compels developers and their partners to fully consider and minimise risks, strengthen governance, and achieve greater cost and time efficiencies. Most importantly, after a history of shortcomings and deficiencies, it was introduced to foster accountability and enable independent scrutiny for high-risk projects – all aspects we welcome and understand.
At Gateway 1 : Planning
We offer overarching support, working closely with key stakeholders in providing expertise across all life safety requirements.
At Gateway 2 : Construction
Our experts create fully detailed designs on specialist life safety elements , including the fire alarm system, the evacuation alert system, the smoke vent system, the suppression system, the disabled refuge system, and other critical life safety systems and requirements.
How all these elements interact and achieve the ultimate goal of compliant life safety, fully meeting all standards, and regulation.
Of course, critical to this stage of the Gateway process is the documentation of system design and documentation.
At Gateway 3 : Completion
In preparation for occupation and use as intended, we are on hand to assist Building Control final compliance, if required.
